An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Dun Laoghaire Educate Together National School (DLETNS) is looking for candidates to fill 3 Special Needs Assistant (SNA) posts in mainstream classes.
1 Jobshare Post 2026-2027
1 Substitute Maternity Leave Post from 26th August to the end of November 2026
1 Substitute position until the end of October 2026
The jobshare post is fixed term, part time until the 31st of August 2027. The successful candidate will work every Monday, Tuesday and every second Wednesday.
Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as per the DES guidelines.
DLETNS is a caring and inclusive school located temporarily in Monkstown Grove. Our permanent school building will be delivered by the Department of Education on the site of the Old Fire Station in Dun Laoghaire.
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work both on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All members of the school staff are expected to respect the school's ethos. We currently have a team of 6 SNAs. Communication skills, understanding of school structures, along with a willingness to engage in further training is extremely important.
Previous experience in working with children with complex needs is desirable. Initial duties of the post may change depending on the care needs of the children. The successful candidates will be expected to be flexible as work may be allocated in a number of classrooms.
The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening, and completion of Tusla online child Safeguarding training.
