An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The job of a bus escort includes the following duties:
- ensuring the safe transition of pupils with special needs from their homes to school and home again each day.
- liaising with parents and staff daily
- ensuring all children are safe on school transport.
Experience working with pupils with additional needs is an advantage for this role.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- work for 4 hours approximately daily at the Departmet of Education rates (hours of work will be confirmed when the bus route is confirmed)
- work every day the school is open (182 days in the school year)
- undergo Garda vetting and complete the Children First online training.
- School begins at 9am and finishes at 1.40pm (infants) and 2.40pm for all other children.
