Additional Information:
The successful candidate will support the care needs of pupils with additional educational and/or care needs, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Duties will be carried out in accordance with Department of Education and Youth Circulars and under the direction of the Principal.
Duties may include:
- Assisting pupils with care needs, including toileting, mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene where required.
- Supporting pupils in developing independence, social skills, communication, and engagement in learning activities.
- Assisting with supervision during class, yard, school activities, and transitions throughout the school day.
- Helping to create a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils in managing their organisation, behaviour, and participation in school routines.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, school staff, parents, and external professionals as appropriate.
- Participating in school activities, training, and meetings relevant to the role.
The successful candidate should demonstrate flexibility, reliability, confidentiality, and a commitment to supporting pupils with additional care and educational needs.
Appointment will be subject to current Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening, and the terms and conditions of the Department of Education and Youth.
This is a part-time position (0.75 = 24 hours).
