We are inviting applications for the following positions:
This advertisement is for 1 fixed-term teaching post and one specified purpose teaching post.
St Mary’s Special School is a warm, inclusive school community supporting pupils aged 4–18 with a wide range of learning needs. The school caters for students with a Mild General Learning Disability as their primary diagnoisis as well as students with Autism and a co‑occurring Mild and/or Moderate Intellectual Disability.
Teachers should be prepared to work in any class in the school.
Essential skills/experience: previously worked in a special school/class setting with children with an intellectual disability and/or Autism, evidence of interest in working in special education through completed CPD, awareness of MAPA/Dynamis/dealing with behaviours of concern
Desirable: flexibility, good team player, able to establish excellent relationships with families and Multi-Disciplinary Teams, willingness to bring more to the school and share your own talents and interest with staff and students, experience/knowledge of Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle L1/L2 and Primary Curriculum, familiarity with Total Communication methods.
