An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
2x SNA Positions are available in our school (including in our Special Classes for Deaf Children)

1 x 0.5 Post (Job-Share)
Successful applicants will be expected to display the following skills and competencies:
1. Have experience of working with children who are Deaf
2. Have a knowledge of Irish Sign Language
3. Excellent level of communication skills in English
4. Flexibility, team work and initiative to work independently as well as part of the team
5. Experience of and enthusiasm for working with children
6. An interest and willingness to provide additional support to the pupils
7. Ability to respect the dignity and confidentiality of the pupils
8. Willingness to avail of accredited courses in Irish Sign Language and other training as required
Duties include working with children of all ages, assisting children with intimate care, accessing activities and supporting students with challenging behaviours and complex physical needs.
Additional relevant qualifications e.g. Irish Sign Language, first aid, manual handling, L獺mh, PECS, etc. are desirable.
