An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Bunscoil Niocláis is a co-educational vertical school with two special classes for children with Multiple Disabilities and Autism.
Experience of working with children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, Physical Disability and using positive approaches to behaviours that challenge is desirable.
• Duties include working with children of all ages, assisting children with intimate care, accessing activities, administration of medication and supporting students with challenging behaviours and complex physical needs. Duties may include assisting pupils in the swimming pool and assisting on out-of-school visits, walks and similar activities.
Additional relevant qualifications e.g. first aid, manual handling, Lámh, PECS, etc. would be desirable.
In addition the successful candidate would have a proven flexible approach, demonstrated a willingness to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills and a willingness to avail of further training.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to, satisfactory references, current Gárda vetting and Occupational Health Screening.
